Writer and director Neil Burger (The Illusionist) latest film is smart, funny and touching with an excellent rich script and superb performances by Tim Robbins, Rachel McAdams and Michael Peña. Not only does manage to walk a tightrope by making a film about three soldiers on leave from the war in Iraq on a road trip through the states but he comes away with a classic American film in every sense of the word that's relevant and complex without being preachy or in your face regardless of your political stand which is not an easy task to say the least.
