Madeinusa
Peruvian writer and director Claudia Llosa made her feature debut with this surreal drama. In a remote village in the Andes, a teenage girl uses a stranger to get even with her abusive father during the Easter festivities. Llosa creates a unique setting where tribal and Christian rites are blended into one which might seem shocking to outsiders who are not welcome. Beautifully shot and acted, the film takes the audience to a faraway and exotic location rarely seen. YRCinema's coverage of films on DVD.
