Peruvian writer and director Claudia Llosa made her feature debut with this surreal drama. In a remote village in the Andes, a teenage girl uses a stranger to get even with her abusive father during the Easter festivities. Llosa creates a unique setting where tribal and Christian rites are blended into one which might seem shocking to outsiders who are not welcome.
