Danish director Peter Flinth made this old fashioned epic about a Swedish crusader torn between love and loyalty. After growing up in a monastery the son of a nobleman is sent to the Holy Land as a knight Templar to do penance for a forbidden love. Severely edited from two films to make this version, the story and its characters suffer which could have been a decent adventure film.
