Silent Light
Carlos Reygadas third feature (Japon and Battle in Heaven) is a metaphysical take on the nature of sin that features also one of the best studies of light ever captured on screen. It starts with a sunrise and ends with a sunset and in between light in various times and seasons. The story is set among a Mennonite community where a married man falls in love with another woman that tests his faith and his family. Basically the sin comes to light like anything else that light exposes from the dark. The film will test the patience of many but reward those who want more than just a traditional film.
