British director Richard Marquand delivered his best film with this effective thriller about a lawyer falling in love with her client which clouds her judgement. A former criminal lawyer returns to the courtroom to defend a man accused of killing his wealthy wife, only to find out that nothing is as it seems. Marquand and writer Joe Eszterhas created a perfect whodunit with plenty of twists from the beginning till the last frame.
