Director David Fincher made his feature debut with third film in the series. Ripley is the lone survivor when she awakes in a remote prison planet with all male convicts and an alien on the loose and without any weapons. Fincher took the series into another direction by toning down the action but infusing it with plenty of atmosphere. Sigourney Weaver returns with another nuanced performance proving her worth as the greatest female action star. The supporting cast includes Charles Dance and Charles S.
