Korean writer and director Bong Joon-ho returns with an ambitious but original sci-fi thriller. Based on the French graphic novels, Joon-ho and co-writer Kelly Masterson have created a gritty film that takes risks despite the inherent flaws of the source material which is a remarkable achievement.
