Director Dominic Sena returned to the big screen with this action film with a unique setting that promises more than it can deliver. A female US Marshal is sent to Antarctica to solve a crime before the sun sets for six months and everybody leaves the South Pole. There's potential in the story and setting which could have been the basis for a terrific thriller but Sena and his writers fail to deliver anything beyond the the mediocre which is a shame. Kate Beckinsale stars along with Gabriel Macht, Tom Skerritt and Columbus Short. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
