Wong Kar Wai's new version of one of his early films is much better with the new edit and soundtrack but remains of his weaker works. The film features some of the biggest stars of Asia and is gorgeously shot by Christopher Doyle is the most poetic of all the martial art films. The film mixes martial arts and Speghetti Western asthetics in wonderous ways but the visuals overwhelm the storytelling. YRCinema's coverage of the Cannes Film Festival.
