The Song of Sparrows
Majid Majidi's latest film fits well with the rest of his films (Children of Heaven, Color of Paradise, Baran) but it's lighter in tone and more hopeful. The film also gives a glimpse of daily life in Iran that contradicts the Western media's depiction of a oppressed country. The story of poor family's struggles is heartfelt and poignant. Reza Najie gives a powerful performance as the father. YRCinema's coverage of the Cannes Film Festival.
