Floating Weeds
Japanese master Yasujiro Ozu remade one of his earlier classics in glorious color at the peak of his career. The timeless story set in the world of a theater troupe, concerns an aging actor who returns to small coastal town where he hopes to settle down with a former lover and son he left behind years earlier. After his mistress and fellow actress finds his behavior suspicious, she sets in motion a plan that causes heartbreak all around. Legendary Japanese cinematographer Kazuo Miyagawa (Rashomon, Ugetsu & Yojimbo) helps Ozu with his vision which allowed him to work with another master of the Japanese cinema. YRCinema's coverage of films on DVD.
