Perfume
German director Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run) makes an effective film out of Patrick Süskind bestselling novel. The fantastic but preposterous story about a man with an extraordinary sense of smell who wants to create the ultimate perfume that involves the killing of virgins. Tykwer brings his usual meticulous sense of style that fits the subject matter well and introducing Ben Whishaw as the lead who pulls off the difficult role. Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman provide an international appeal to the project. YRCinema's coverage of films on DVD.
