A Summer in Genoa
Prolific and versatile British writer and director Michael Winterbottom explored themes of loss and identity with this drama. A man relocates to Italy with his two young daughters to move on with life after an horrific accident. In Genoa each of them struggle to cope with their loss in different ways. Winterbottom applies his documentary style approach to give the film immediacy that works without losing quality. Colin Firth stars with newcomers Perla Haney-Jardine and Willa Holland along with Catherine Keener and Hope Davis in supporting roles. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
