A Matter of Taste
Director Sally Rowe made her feature debut with this compelling documentary. The rise of a young, talented and controversial chef, Paul Liebrandt, as he tries to find his way into the world of haute cuisine where critics opinion and stars can make or break careers. Rowe's access to Liebrandt provides insight into the mind of an artist whose creative process and dedication to his craft makes for a compelling film. Liebrandt comes across as sincere and brilliant whose rise in the culinary world seems justified as he prepares dishes like a painter. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
