Goats
Director Christopher Neil made his feature debut with this coming of age comedy. When a teenager leaves his hippie mother to go to school, he finally gets to know his conservative father which gives him a greater perspective on life. Writer Mark Poirier who adapted his own novel and Neil fail to find the right tone where most characters feel contrived and considering Neil's background as an acting coach, the performances are over the place. Graham Phillips stars with the support of Vera Farmiga, David Duchovny and Keri Russell. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
