Director Joe Dante returned to the big screen after a decade with this 3D adventure. After moving to a new town and house, two kids find a hole in the basement which causes them plenty of excitement and the attention of the girl next door. Dante returned to familiar territory but uses the 3D technology to his advantage which gives the film another dimension that works well within the genre. Chris Massoglia and Haley Bennett are perfectly cast as the teen leads along with the support of veterans, Bruce Dern and Terri Polo. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
