like your list very much but you're missing one of the best films from asia this year - secret sunshine by lee chang dong. amazing.
It was a great film, specially the actress that played the lead role. However it didn't touch me personally. There were a lot of great films this year and only 10 spots.

you need to watch 'Taare Zameen Par' it will touch you and it is one of the best films ever to me, and was released this year not that long ago! its from india!

I watched the 'Lives of others' over the weekend and it was the brilliant. The first film i ever rated at a perfect 10 on IMDB.
