Celebrated British video and commercial director Jonathan Glazer made his feature debut with this riveting thriller. A retired British gangster is surprised by the visit of his vicious former boss which threatens his idyllic life in Spain. Brilliantly written by Louis Mellis & David Scinto and directed by Glazer, the film marked the arrival of a major talent whose kinetic visual style was matched by his finesse for superb performances. British actor Ray Winstone got his much deserved leading role with a pitch-perfect performance. The supporting cast includes Ben Kingsley with a riveting and terrifying performance on which the entire film rests.
