The Trial
Legendary writer and director Orson Welles found the perfect material with the classic novel by Franz Kafka to make another powerful film worthy of his immense talent. A man finds himself in a nightmare where he's accused of an unknown crime and has to stand a trial. Welles is the perfect match for Kafka's vision where he delivers a film that matches the tone and sense of the paranoia of the source material with a stellar cast and crew. Anthony Perkins is perfectly cast as Josef K along with a supporting cast that includes Jeanne Moreau, Romy Schneider, Elsa Martinelli and Welles himself. The cinematography by Edmond Richard and score by Jean Ledrut stands out. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
