There Be Dragons
British writer and director Roland Joffé returns with another period drama set during the Spanish Civil War. A journalist investigating the life of a saint finds out his father's involvement which leads to a devastating revelation. Joffé aims at the themes of his greatest achievements such as "The Mission" and "The Killing Fields" but fails to reach the same heights due to the over-ambitious script and execution. The international cast of Charlie Cox, Wes Bentley, Dougray Scott, Rodrigo Santoro, Golshifteh Farahani and Olga Kurylenko is inspired to say the least but can't overcome the inherent flaws of the script. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
