Director James Mangold changed genres again with comic book adaptation that focuses on Wolverine alone. Logan/Wolverine is lured to Japan to meet an old acquaintance but is entangled in a family conflict that affects him as well as other foes including the Yakuza and Ninjas. Mangold has chosen well by focusing on Wolverine alone instead of too many mutant characters which serves the story and film well with this stylish and satisfying action film. Hugh Jackman stars and delivers his best performance as the character along with a fine cast that includes Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto, Hiroyuki Sanada, Svetlana Khodchenkova and Famke Janssen. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
