The Messenger

Veteran writer Oren Moverman made his feature debut with this moving and poignant film. The story about two soldiers who are assigned to notify the families of fallen soldiers. It's a heartbreaking film besides being timely and relevant since somebody is doing that on daily basis as the wars keep going. Moverman manages to keep the delicate balance and allows the actors to do their job. Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster star as the two leads, while Harrelson is in top form again, Foster continues to impress. The supporting cast includes the divine Samantha Morton who's just phenomenal.
