British comedian Ricky Gervais made his feature debut as a director besides writing and starring in this comedy. The story set in an Utopian society where everybody always tells the truth much to the agony of a middle aged man who's life turns upside down when he accidentally invents lying. Gervais cleverly attacks society and religion in this satire. There are some funny moments but falls short eventually as the story progresses.
