The Names of Love
French director Michel Leclerc's second feature is an absurd romantic comedy. A liberal and free spirited woman sleeps around with her political opponents to convert them until she falls in love with one of them. Leclerc borrows heavily from films like "Amélie" to create a whimsical love story but fails to find the delicate balance to make it work. Sara Forestier and Jacques Gamblin try their best to save the film but can't overcome the inherent problems that plagues the film. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
