Belgian writer and director Lucas Belvaux's trilogy looks at three couples whose stories interconnect. In the first film, a communist revolutionary breaks out of prison to get even with those who betrayed him. With the police after him, he gets help from his former mistress and the drug addicted wife of the police officer after him. Belvaux emphasizes on the drama that slows down the pace of the thriller.
