Iranian writer and director Asghar Farhadi provides a fascinating look at contemporary Iran with this compelling drama. During the new year festivities, a young maid is entangled in the explosive relationship of a couple on the verge of a break up. Set entirely during one day, Farhadi manages to give insight into the lives of three couples at various stages of their lives, a couple about to get married, a married couple struggling with their marriage and a divorced couple. Farhadi is one the few contemporary Iranian directors avoiding politics to focus on the domestic issues which is rarely captured. YRCinema's coverage of films on DVD.
