Mirror Mirror

Indian director Tarsem Singh brought his visual flair to this misguided treatment of a classic fairytale. A young princess fights her stepmother to regain her rightful place with the help of seven dwarfs. The story of Snow White with a different approach, lighter in tone and more friendly to the younger audiences. The film doesn't takes the story seriously with an uneven writing and directing. Julia Roberts is miscast as the stepmother with an over-the-top performance while Lily Collins and Armie Hammer are game as Snow White and her prince charming. Singh seems to focus more on the visuals in his films than the story and characters which shows in the performances. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
