Open Water

Writer and director Chris Kentis made a terrifying thriller about a horrific tragedy based on a true story. A couple's dream vacation is turned into a deadly nightmare when they are abandoned in the ocean after a scuba diving trip. Kentis made a simple horror film which is far more terrifying because it touches on the phobia being based on a true story which makes it more effective as if it were a fictional one. Blanchard Ryan and Daniel Travis are fine in the leads as the couple who gradually realize the gravity of their situation. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
