The Grand Budapest Hotel

Writer and director Wes Anderson delivers his best film since Rushmore where he goes full throttle for style over substance which works in his favor. A celebrated writer visits a legendary hotel and meets a man who witnessed the hotel at the height of its glory when its concierge was involved in a scandal. Anderson whose career focused on fables with elaborate characters in colorful and stylized worlds found the perfect material for his latest which fits him like a glove while serving the story. Ralph Fiennes stars with a terrific and hilarious performance which is the highlight of the film along with a stellar supporting cast that includes Jude Law, F. Murray Abraham, Saoirse Ronan and newcomer Tony Revolori amongst many familiar faces. 1001 Films' coverage of current releases.
