New York, I Love You

This film works surprisingly well on the whole concept rather than parts after the similar "Paris, je t'aime" failed on the whole where only few of the shorts impressed. The second round does not have the same caliber of directors from the first project attached but their vision fits better in their valentine to the city that never sleeps instead of trying hard to bring their signature style to the project. The film is a cinematic love poem to New York and its people played by a stellar cast of veterans and newcomers. Anybody looking for something more in depth, should revisit the works of Scorsese and Allen because that kind of expectation would be misplaced. If you want just a ride and what talent got involved and which famous star pops on screen at any given time and whether or not they make an impression, then you will enjoy this. It proves why some actors and actresses are greater than others. One thing the film got right about New York is that it's a city full of surprises and your prejudices about its people doesn't always work which makes it one of the unique places in the world.
