The American remake of the Spanish horror film [REC] by writer and director John Erick Dowdle has some minor changes but is practically the same film. The story about a journalist following firefighters during a night that lands them in a Los Angeles building where a virus turns its residents into zombies. Where in the original the camera man was only heard and never seen has been given a face along with familiar faces of character actors. Also the religious angle of the original has been replaced by bio-terrorism. Where the original had a more slick and polished look, this film looks drab more like DV than HD. YRCinema's coverage of films on DVD.
