The Man Who Loved Women

Prolific French writer and director François Truffaut continued his exploration of the male psyche with this drama. The story of a womanizer and the women that enriched his life. Truffaut delivered a character study that's more complex and thought provoking than the title suggests by playing with the audiences' expectations in which a womanizer is actually a decent guy. Charles Denner gives a nuanced performance as the lead along with a solid supporting cast that includes Brigitte Fossey, Leslie Caron and Nathalie Baye amongst others. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
