French writer and director Claude Chabrol took the revenge formula and turns it into a complex drama. A father whose son is killed by a hit and run driver seeks out to kill the man responsible which proves to be more complicated. Chabrol masterfully weaves a tale of revenge with plenty of twists and turns which makes for a compelling film.
