French director André Téchiné gave writer Olivier Assayas and actress Juliette Binoche their first major breaks with this ménage à trois drama. A young actress finds herself torn between two men in Paris which leave her with life lessons. Téchiné and co-writer Assayas show a vivid portrait of tormented youth where emotions clash. Binoche shines in her first leading role which lead to an stellar international career as one of the great actresses of her time.
