Writer and director Craig Zobel delivered a riveting film with his second feature based on a disturbing true story. A prank caller at a fast food restaurant forces the manager to interrogate a teenage employee which has devastating consequences. What's disturbing about the film is that it actually happened more than 70 times in the US. Zobel created a terrific film that shows how average people fell for the hoax that leads them to abuse their power and rights trying to be compliant with the law. That the people lacked common sense or the restaurant lacked a code of conduct or a procedure is outrageous but understandable. Ann Dowd and Dreama Walker star with terrific performances in this disturbing but effective thriller. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
