Armadillo
Danish director Janus Metz makes his feature debut with this documentary about Danish soldiers in Afghanistan. While not as intense as "Restropo," it provides a complete journey of what soldiers going through from their homes to the front where they come face to face with the enemy along with all daily ordeals and routines. The film feels like movie rather than a documentary because it blurs the lines like recent films crossing into documentary territory for greater authenticity. Metz cleverly focuses on the right soldiers as the protagonists and they are so good that it makes you think you are watching actors performing than actual soldiers. Editor Per Sandholt makes sure for the right pacing and transitions that adds to the feeling you are watching a film rather than documentary.
