The Illusionist
French writer and director Sylvain Chomet adapts a script by French legend Jacques Tati in this magical animation. The story about an old magician who has a hard time finding an audience in the changing times of the 60's when Rock 'n' Roll bands swept the world. He's forced to take assignments at private parties that takes him to a small coastal town where he meets a young fan that changes their lives. It's a universal story of loneliness in changing times where generational gaps severely disconnects human interactions. What was true in the 60's with music, it's even more so with the Internet and computer in current times. This charming film will delight everybody, specially those who love animation.
