Honey
Turkish writer and director Semih Kaplanoglu's third film in his Yusuf trilogy (Edd and Milk) is told in reverse in a man's life. In this film, Yusuf is a young boy living in a remote and idyllic forest where his father collects honey for living. When the bees start disappearing, his father is forced to search for honey further away from home. A beautiful and poetic film about the simple joys of life full of wonder through the eyes of a boy. The film is full of symbolism as honey represents knowledge which is acquired through hard work by the bees and the father. YRCinema's coverage of films at the Marché du Film at the 63rd Festival de Cannes.
