Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired
Writer and director Marina Zenovich's documentary may have been the cause for the recent troubles of famed Polish director Roman Polanski by stirring up the ghosts of his past. However the film's sympathetic towards the director who has been a fugitive from the US since 1977 when he realized that the judge on his case was using him for his own fame. Zenovich makes a compelling case by bringing those involved at the case to talk about what actually happened including the victim. Nobody tries to hide the crime but it happened as the documentary explains. What's outrageous about is how it was handled by the media and the presiding judge who used the case for his advantage in a game of cat and mouse that was clearly against the law which lead Polanski to flee the country. However well intentioned the film was, it clearly back fired to help Polanski within the US justice system that has started another media circus around it that's still unfolding.
