French writer and director Riad Sattouf made his feature debut with this "coming of age" comedy. An adolescent boy's awakened sexuality consumes his daily life in school and at home to hilarious effects. Sattouf captures the growing pains of adolescence very well with his talented cast and crew. While everything's exaggerated for comic effects, the film hits the right tone in a French way. The talented young cast is supported by veterans Noémie Lvovsky, Emmanuelle Devos, Irène Jacob and Valeria Golino.
