Kahaani

Indian writer and director Sujoy Ghosh delivered a riveting film with this thriller. A pregnant woman's search for her missing husband takes her to Kolkata where nobody seems to have seen him. Ghosh seems to have taken inspiration from Christopher McQuarrie's "The Usual Suspects" which pays off well. Ghosh also wisely stays away from the Bollywood formula by showing the actual locations which works brilliantly as a character. Bollywood actress Vidya Balan delivers a terrific performance in the lead along with solid supporting cast that includes Parambrata Chatterjee amongst others. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
