Australian director Phillip Noyce and British writer Richard Curtis joined forces for this compelling drama that brings two different together to fight a deadly but preventable disease. A high strung American woman takes her young son out of school where he's bullied to Africa for some adventure but their journey leads to tragedy which leads her to a British woman who shares her grief and they join forces to fight malaria which kills millions of children every year. Noyce and Curtis deliver a powerful film with a profound emotional core thanks to the powerhouse performances of Hilary Swank and Brenda Blethyn in the leads. The terrific supporting cast includes Frank Grillo, James Woods and Sam Claflin. 1001 Films' coverage of current releases.
