This is not a Film
Iranian writer and director Jafar Panahi turned the camera on himself for this fascinating documentary while on house arrest awaiting the court's decision on his future. A filmmaker who can't exercise his profession is forced to record his daily life which becomes a poignant act of rebellion against an oppressive regime. Panahi whose films were always of political nature finally got himself targeted by the authorities which banned him from making films which is the worst kind of punishment for an artist. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
