Los Bastardos

Spanish writer and director Amat Escalante explores the political and cultural divide in Los Angeles between the illegal immigrants and legal citizen on crash course collision. Over the course of 24 hours two undocumented Mexican laborers face humiliation during and after work which leads them to commit a criminal act with tragic consequences. Escalante taps into the clear cut divide that exists in Los Angeles in this explosive tale that shows LA in a total different light,  never explored in a Hollywood film. The film has a documentary look and feel that makes the violence even more shocking. The cast of professional and non-professional actors shine in this original and unflinching film. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
