POWAQQATSI

Filmmaker Godfrey Reggio delivered the second film of his trilogy six years later which reflects the time to make them. A look of the humanity from around the world where most people live in primitive ways. While the first film focused on North America and the West, this film mainly focuses on the people, mostly in third world countries where they struggle with consequences of the modernity imposed on them from mines and factories to vast wastelands. The title in Hopi language means "Life in Transformation" reflects how the lives of the billions of people will change with the consequences of the modern civilization. Philip Glass delivers another haunting score to the unforgettable images by Reggio and his team. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
