Essential Killing

Polish writer and director Jerzy Skolimowski delivered a powerful film about survival with this thriller. After killing American soldiers, a Taliban fighter is imprisoned and tortured before he escapes captivity in an unidentified Eastern European country where a brutal fight for survival starts against the elements. Skolimowski shows tremendous skills with this striking and almost silent film about survival where killing another human being becomes essential. Vincent Gallo stars and delivers a superb performance as the Taliban fighter without speaking a word. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
