That Obscure Object of Desire

Legendary Spanish master Luis Buñuel stayed true to his surrealist style and sense of humor with his swan song. An elderly gentleman falls in love with a beautiful young woman which tests his patience and desire to extreme and strange behavior. Brilliantly written by Buñuel and frequent collaborator Jean-Claude Carrière that examines sexual obsession and frustration by taking them to new heights with plenty of humor. Buñuel remains one of the most original voices in the history of cinema. The talented cast includes Fernando Rey in the lead while Carole Bouquet and Ángela Molina appear in true Buñuel fashion as the same character. 1001 Films' coverage of films on DVD.
