Beloved Sisters

German writer and director Dominik Graf exposed the secret love life of writer and poet Friedrich Schiller. Two close sisters fall for the same man which leads to an unconventional "ménage a trois" which they try to conceal from the world even when their short lived happiness falls apart. Graf has a created a beautiful film with an attractive cast that captures the spirit of the period without being stuffy with a story that's still shocking today as it was then but fits the ideology of its subject. Florian Stetter stars along with Henriette Confurius and Hannah Herzsprung with solid performances. 1001 Films' coverage of the 67th Festival de Cannes.
