Two Days, One Night

Belgian masters Jean-Pierre & Luc Dardenne return with another masterpiece with heart wrenching drama. A married woman suffering from depression has the weekend to fight to keep her job as she seeks her coworkers to vote for her instead of their bonus. The Dardenne brothers deliver another astounding film which tells volumes about the economic downturn around the world and how human greed has ripple effects. Marion Cotillard stars or rather disappears in the Dardenne world with an astonishing performance which is the heart of the film. Dardenne regular Fabrizio Rongione is equally terrific as her husband along a terrific ensemble which also includes Olivier Gourmet. 1001 Films' coverage of the 67th Festival de Cannes.
