Carancho

Argentinian writer and director Pablo Trapero returns with this gritty and violent thriller set in the world of traffic accidents where corrupt lawyers cash on innocent victims. Disgraced lawyer Sosa has to chase ambulances to find clients in order to get his commission. When he falls for drug addicted doctor, he wants to get out in order to live a decent life which gets them in danger. Trapero creates a bleak world where the system has failed to protect its people at the mercy of corrupt lawyers, doctors and cops who have their day stealing. Breathtaking action sequences mixed with intimate drama makes this genre bending film work that also features strong performances by Ricardo DarĂn and Martina Gusman as the leads.
